Chairigami Manufacturing:
What if you could rapidly manufacture furniture from a single source material on demand? The Chairigami manufacturing process is designed to minimize material usage, shipping costs, and obsolete inventory. Each piece of Chairigami furniture is made to order from 4x8 triple wall corrugated sheet stock without any fasteners or glues. By keeping an inventory of raw material rather than furniture skus, we can quickly adapt to customer's changing furniture preferences, immediately update designs, and run product tests without large monetary investment. Sheets of 4x8 triple wall corrugated board can transform into anything from a stool to a rocking chair to a standing desk in less than 10 minutes, giving us the flexibility to manufacture as much as needed, when it is needed. All chairigami pieces are designed to easily flat-pack within standard UPS dimensional weight boxes that maximize delivered furniture volume relative to shipping cost. A Sofa measuring 44"W x 32"D x 28"H can ship in a 44"W X 30"L X 6"D box cross country for less than $50. A proprietary triple-wall recipe of liners and flutes reduces board weight while maximizing furniture strength and durability. I chose a material that was not only efficient but also sustainable: chairigami's sheet stock is 100% recyclable, made in America, and certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
When furniture is delivered, users follow intuitive, origami like instructions to assemble pieces in minutes. Because furniture is light weight, users can easily reconfigure spaces and test new furniture arrangements. After years of use, the furniture can be recycled.
If large quantities of furniture need to be produced, we can quickly scale from hand-cut prototypes, to digitally cut small-scale runs, to large quantity die-cut manufacturing runs. Because Chairigami can operate at each of these manufacturing tiers, we can quickly adapt our production to match the scale and timeline of client orders.
